ABOUT SUMMER SALT

Summer-Salt Dive Center is a full service dive center, and a member of the PADI International Resort and Retailer Association. We are located in the center of Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We are a modern, professional center designed for all the needs of experienced divers and to provide the optimal learning environment for beginners and those wishing to advance their diving education. We encourage everybody to join in the fun of diving, snorkeling, whale-watching and exploring!

THE DIVING STAFF

All our staff is highly professional, outgoing and sociable for loads of fun and - of course - we are all instructed in Emergency First Aid to provide all the safety it takes to make your diving holyday a fun experience! We are all certified divers to best anticipate your needs and wishes as well as to take professional care of you and your gear. We know what you are looking for and talking about.

THE DIVING EQUIPEMENT

All dive trips are held on one of our two dive boats which go beyond local safety requirements. They are both equipped for all our activities, including Oxygen, VHF radio, telephone, GPS, First Aid Kit and many other features to make your excursions as safe, comfortable and fun as possible.

The Calahonda, our 21ft/7m multi use Boat for up to 6 divers is comfortably adapted for Scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing and exploring the coast. It leaves whenever you want wherever you want for personally scheduled excursions, for students or as a private, all inclusive half- or full-day charter.

The Voltareta, our 25ft/8m custom built dive boat sets standards in safety and comfort. Built in 2007 in Costa Rica for local conditions, it respects the most severe international coast guard requirements. It can take up to 12 divers, but to keep great comfort and to respect our objective for fast long range travels to the Cat's and Bat's, we set it up for a maximum of 10 divers including the guides!
 

For those who need to be equipped, we rent regularly maintained and recent Mares and Scubapro BCD’s and Regulators with octopus and depth-/pressure gauge. For your protection, we provide you with full length, 3 or 5mm wetsuits. For your independence, we recommend to get equipped with one of our dive computers. Weightbelts and 80 cft/12 l Aluminium Tanks with Int. connections are included in our prices that we transmit you with pleasure upon request.
